1.0NO PREVIEW, NO GLOW, NO CLOUD
Recording you can’t see.
Anonycord is a free, open-source iOS recorder with no preview, no interface, and no glow. One tap starts it; a haptic pulse confirms it. Footage stays on your device, in your library or behind Face ID.
UNSIGNED IPA 6.6 MB / iOS 15+ / GPL-3.0
DISPLAY OFF
One tap. No light.
The whole screen is the start–stop control, so there is no button to find in the dark. One haptic pulse tells you recording has started; two tell you it has stopped. The display never lights up to give you away.
It records 4K or 1080p video on the wide, selfie, or ultrawide camera, audio on its own with adjustable sample rate and channels, and stills.
2.2BLACKOUT MODE
The screen goes dark. The recording doesn’t.
Blackout removes the status bar, the home indicator, and every control, then floors the system brightness. On an OLED panel a black pixel is an unlit pixel, so the phone reads as off. Tap anywhere to start and stop. Hold to reach settings.
Blackout, in detail →● STILL RECORDING AT 0 NITS
Both sides of the moment.
Front and back cameras at once, written as two separate clips: the scene, and your side of it. Still no preview.
Dual capture, in detail →Start without looking.
Arm the hardware trigger and a volume button press starts recording. The system volume overlay is suppressed while the trigger is armed, so nothing flashes over the black screen. Or let auto-start begin a set number of seconds after launch, with no interaction at all.
Triggers, in detail →Locked to your face.
Vault recordings live inside the app’s own sandbox: hidden from Photos and Files, never synced. The only way in is the same biometric gate that protects your banking app.
The vault, in detail →Nothing leaves.
There is no account, no analytics SDK, and no server on the other end. A recording travels one route: from the camera to storage on your phone. There is no second route to switch off, because it was never built.

A free, open-source iOS app that records video, audio, and stills with no on-screen preview and no visible camera interface. The screen stays dark while filming; a haptic pulse confirms start and stop. It's built for personal documentation: recording your own environment, on your own device.
No. Anonycord has no accounts, no analytics, and no server. Recordings go to your photo library, to the on-device Face ID vault, or both. The only way footage leaves the phone is if you move it yourself. The one exception is saving to the library with iCloud Photos turned on, in which case Apple's normal photo sync applies.
Anonycord is distributed as an unsigned IPA built by GitHub Actions from public source. You install it with a sideloading tool (AltStore, SideStore, Sideloadly, or TrollStore), which signs it with your own Apple ID on your own device. There is no store account, no review queue, and no middleman between the source code and your phone.
